Exceptional pieces

The vases by
Helene Morbu

Description

The Faraday and Akan vases are edited in a limited series of 8 pieces.
Faraday, like a succulent papaya, brings back the amphora into modern times.
Akan is the pinnacle of elegance, with its chic, timeless tones taking us back to the Roaring Twenties. We simply love it.

Hélène sees clay as an experimental medium, her creation process always starts with an hunt for materials and colors. Over the years, she's built a repertoire of tests that, much like an alphabet, form the basics of her work and allow her to create a personal dictionary forged by experience.

In her Nantes studio, she sculpts and trims the clay in search for pure, graphic geometry. She gets her inspiration from minerals as much as from plants, and Greek or Mesopotamian ceramics.
Julie's project is about craftsmanship and the belief that there's a dialogue that runs between all artistic mediums. This idea seduced her to the point of creating, in exclusivity for Majuno, this limited series of delicate, elegant and chiselled ceramics.
